unless you have records (family tree) of their breeding, plus their parents etc, you cannot predict what colours you'll get, as recessive genes might meet in your pairing, and throw out a colour/marking you'd not expect

 

I agree. It is impossible to predict unless you have some knowledge of what colors there are in the family. Some colors like Albino and Sandy are recessive, and Silver and Polecat are dominant colors. But if your polecat has albino parents, it is more likely to be albino when mated to an albino....

 

You will se the colors when the kits are a few weeks old.. Good luck. :thumbs:

Just a bit more knowledge now for the future ;) and fingers-crossed ill be having some nice kits going to some good homes that i have ready for them :D, The parents are good workers especially the hob and if anyone wants some free kits when they are ready around my area ive me a call :thumbs:.

 

Its the first time ive bred ferrets and all im waiting for now is my jill to come into season, Has anyones jills come into season yet?

last year with the same albino hob i got from him and polecat jill 4 sandy and 6 poley and to an albino jill all albino . the hob i have just now is albino from albino hob and poley jill his litter was a mix of both colours but all hobs im gonna have to service my 2 silvers with him this year as i cant get a blk eye white to use so im hopefull ill get at least a few silvers as there aint many about here . good luck with your breeding and mind fill us in with what how they turn out .

if its the first time you'vre bred ferrets, you'll end up keeping half of them, bet ya :thumbs:
