Guest HAWKEYE
I cut a lurchers nails last nite for a lad local to me who being honest is dateless....they were long as f**k...I clipped em an inch or so at a time..getting shorter and shorter until they were very very short...the dog is very very very skinny and has had a few injuries with bones etc. already in its short life...There was absolutely no quicks at all in the nail beds I couldnt believe that months upon months of growth hadnt led to very long quicks developing and the inevitable bleeding as i nicked them back... I know that in malnutrtion etc in humans the extremities of the body are the first to shut down,,,eg eyesight hairloss etc and was maybe thinking that due to malnourishment the quicks hadnt developed...I thought this was very unusual in a 2 year old dog though..Has anyone ever come across this or can shed any ideas as to why this might happen ?
