Guest snatch flcc
went out again last thursday with the local hare shooting club, had the flushing dogs ready and the shot gun in hand so off we went, as we entered the first field both flushing dogs were off the lead when a hare got up out of range but they soon got on it trying to flush it back to the gun, the hare turned up the bank through the hedge and out of sight the about 2 minutes later he came back through the hedge with dogs in toe, they ran him over to a ditch turning him here and there, but then the went to ground in a pipe! we changed dogs and then carried on walking, as we crossed in to into the next field the flushing dogs put up a hare the gun took aim but couldnt get a safe shot so the dogs ran the hare turning it several times unfortunately they accidently caught it! oops!!! (lotti was the one who caught it!) then we spent the next 2 hours looking for hares but only found one! this was a really long flush but the dogs managed to get on it and flush it back towards us, the gun unfortunately jammed so the dogs carried on, they had a fantastic run but lost it in the wood. The farmer had been spraying the fields which is why there were so few hares about but it was a beautiful clear day and the walk was lovely. The extra bonus was that I was also given permission the cull the rabbits on his 2000 acre farm!!!! Going out with the lamp as soon as the ground softens and moon goes to check it out properly!!! PS I have been informed that if a shoot has a hare shoot you are legally aloud to go out with your flushing dogs to catch and pick up any injured hares on the day or the following day, does anyone know if this is 100% correct cos if it is I think there having a hare shoot on the farm we are going to this thursday, obviously we will be there to catch and pick up any injured hares! cheers Snatch Flcc Quote Link to post
