My cats single handed on the penguins but f**k me takes stick on the polar bears.

i dont know anyone who drives that actually bothers running hares so all you hare men have nothing to worry about there easy anyway to catch my spaniel regulary caught them preban in open fields

seriously as for shooting them the need controling round here as 3 hares eat as much as one sheep.they enjoy it so fair play thats there thing. everyone to there own.

dont agree spiderpig ....shooting hares in there hundreds ...thats not sport .....if they need controling let the dogs have em ..they will thin out the weak and the old ......iam not saying they should or shouldnt do it ..because who am i to slate there form of hunting ..if you can call it that ....iam saying its not my thing and i dont think its sport ...........

who ever thinks hares are easy on the lamp in a 4x4 pm me for night out not challenge just like to see if i can change your opinion or pm stevesel off of here and ask him what its like he has been with us. they are not so easy when you run 20 to 25 a week to 100 a month plus the 1 or 2 bigger things per week see how easy they are then and not in small fields with tight hendges or stone walls or rough high grass/stubble or any of that shit. on wide open plains bald grass with black thorn spinnys and beech an fir copses with no fences/walls to hinder the hare. stay well back with the 4x4 no cuting off just close enough to keep the light on him. seen good daylight dogs get dragged half way across the downs in the lamp.

100% snoop nothing compares to a day time hare 1 day time is like 3 in the lamp but it bugs me when people condem others it takes allsorts to make the world go round a.i no its alot different daylight but these hares are exeptional. im sure there are others on here who can verify that? and there even harder daytime.ill be tackling them daylight next year im looking for some daylight ammo my lamp bitch can kill 4 to 6 in the lamp up there regular but only ever had 2 runs daylight in one day big difference. still saying it is easy driveing on hares ha. you can tell they are used to the paddocky run back to the light hares.

who ever thinks running any animal on the lamp in any 4x4,thinks its easy needs to wake up ,not just anyone can do it!well not right anyway,iv seen it so many times people who have got a few seasons under there belt knocking dogs over,letting them out too fast takeing over tacle,even by a long shot theres nothing easy about it,and it takes alot of skill and correct learning,trieing to keep the lamp on something at speed then,you sudden realise the animal they was lamping just turned into a peice of long grass but honest i kept the lamp on it its same of anystyle of hunting?theres alot of learning to be done,before jumping in to the moter,may it be dog slipper driver or lamper :thumbs:and of course a decent team of dogs thats going to pull something when slipped

As said when done properly its all good. But driving across young crops and turning like your actually coursing the quarry in your motor, that is actually reckless. I still think the original culprit's are complete tossers.

It has lost us a lot of game and work for our dogs.

i think the first thread was just haveing another go at people who drive the land!nothing to do with the culling of haresimoa?can i just ask the lads against driveing what are your thoughts on what actually goes on when driveing the land,or your past experiances,on how the dogs get run etc,should be intresting to hear your viewsetc

 

good post "mp" and good question , firstly where i live is very difficult to drive/hunt because of the amount of gates , and then there is also the danger of getting into a slide on bank/hillside , i know one such person that this happened too , he got into a skid on a bank managed to straighten the discovery out into a straight line as he made contact with hedge , needless to say he went through the hedge and landed on the main road , i know this sounds like a fairy tale but it is true .... police involved questions asked and answered a warning was given , luckily for my pal he was on permission ground , then we come to the instances where a driver has mis judged a turn and run the dog over , it happens ...... i suppose if you are hunting to fill your freezer with meat a lot tastier than rabbit {and with horns} then the risk of crashing your 4x4 or running your dog over may well be worth it ..... not for me .......because around this part of wales there are not many hares , no deer , and this time of year the rabbits are thin on the ground ....take last night for example ..... within 5 minutes walk of my kennels and i am on grass with dog in hand and lamp on .. nothing ....4 fields later and i get 1 run and a rabbit in the bag ...another 2 fields 1 more rabbit ..... if i was driving a gas guzzling 4x4 those rabbits would have cost me £2.50 each false economy i would say ..... to all those hunters that have the privelige of drving on flat land with a variety of speicies to hunt all i can say is you lucky f**kers and my advice to you would be look after it don't abuse it .......happy hunting

ive hunted and been round aberdare and my welsh freinds have been up in scotland they say this is gods country big feilds space to run and plenty of game but we have wildlife police officers gamekeepers part and fulltime so it can be a pain even with permiss in some areas all the best
