AIRGUNNER 1
ive owned one those guns and the power of it is no where enough to take animals out. How many shots did it take to kill the squirrel because you can see where you body shot it, myself personally would only hit a squirrel in the head and not the body and i own the s410 carbine which is double the power of the ratcatcher. I know there pest`s but theres no need to make them suffer. Any way nice picture. Quote Link to post

Malt 379
ive owned one those guns and the power of it is no where enough to take animals out. Any way nice picture. Tell that to the 40 odd corvids, the 20 odd ferrals and the two rabbits I've taken out cleanly with my king ratcatcher in the 9 months since i've had it! The thing you have too remember with a gun that's less than full power, is that you're limited by range. The pellet only has to be carrying around 4 ft/lbs to kill a rabbit if it's in the right place. If you stick to shooting at around 20-25 yards max, you can't fault the little gun. The 10 ft/lbs that my gun puts out, is plenty for close range pest control. It's more about your feildskills with a lower powered gun. Quote Link to post
bill88 6
Standard ratcatcher is putting out about 6ftlbs, in cold weather that would be nearer 4 or 5ftlbs.They are designed for indoor ratting, and are not the tool for shooting squirrels. My two, Ratcatcher with TR Robb breach and bolt, crooked barn valve, and RWS silencer. King Ratty with crooked barn valve, logun silencer, and Cooper T adaptor, running on refillable paintball 9oz bottle Only used for indoor close range ferals and ratting. Quote Link to post

Are you sure about that Bill mate? I always thought that the standard ratcatcher was about 8-9 ft lbs, and the king ratty was 9 1/2- 10. The 2240 (ratbuster) pistol put's out dead on 6 ft/lbs, so the longer barrel on the ratcatcher would deffo up the power from 6 ft lbs. You're dead right about the cold weather though. bradder2k8 7
ive got a propper gun thanks AA S310 Quote Link to post
AIRGUNNER 1
Why not use it then Bradders, and keep the ratcatcher for paper targets. Edited February 15, 2008 by AIRGUNNER Quote Link to post
