lucky 578
a week ago i sold my brindle dog Billy as i could no longer cope with his chewing i was forever rebuilding the pens as he would chew the doors off, chew the spa's and even his kennel, i tried him on a chain but he was even worse chewing the kennel and the fence even, i tried everthing and even raw creosote did'nt stop him, he was getting plenty of exercise and lamping regular so boredom was'nt the reason.he just did'nt like being confined, i even left his pen open allowing him freedom to go where he wanted until he nearly killed a neighbours border collie. until then he had never fought with any dog and i had even kenneled him with my other dogs in the past. he had to go as he had serious kennel problems which i explained to his new owner before i let him go. anyway i thought i would continue the season with my other 2 dogs Tyke and Beano until wednesday night when i lost Beano lamping, i've tried everything to find him, contacted all the keepers in that area, visited all the farms, contacted dog wardens, kennels, police etc but with no luck so now i'm going to have to continue the rest of the season with Tyke, something i have'nt done since 2002 when he was only 18 months old, the only problem with this is although he will kill as many foxes as he meets in the night, he takes a bit of punishment doing so meaning that i wont be getting half as much lamping done now, i have a pup but he wont be ready to start until next season. so if anybody knows of a dog or bitch for sale that is 100% on fox (and it will be tested) i would be very interested at this time if you could let me know ? i know buying a dog at this time of year is'nt ideal but i also know there are some genuine lads/lasses out there that might have a decent dog for sale for various reasons Quote Link to post

Guest CharlieC
I have the same problem with my dogs they love to chew the wood thats why I knocked down some of my old kennels as they were totally wrecked, they had chewed the frames to bits and dug holes in the floor - Ive invested in a galvanised steel pen now with a heavy duty plastic kennel, hopefully they wont find that as appealing to chomp on as the old wooden ones Quote Link to post
lucky 578
I've got Billy back now as i know how hard it would be to replace him. i'm gonna invest in a new galvanised run, my mate bought a 5/8 3/8 today as his dog died a couple of week ago and he had nothing for a fox. i still have'nt heard anything about beano yet, but ya never know Quote Link to post
