Stoppers are a b*****d to get sorted, mates bitch ripped hers last year and it still opens up even to this day.

He had her laid up for three months while she recovered, then only did very light work with her, first decent session and the b*****d opened up again, ya could try taping it up when you go out, but he did this and it still opened, just one of these things.

ive had it as well, try not to go down the route of getting it removed as it is part of the dogs leg and helps it control its balance, just let it heal then try white spirit, my dog used to piss on his and seemed to toughen right up never had a problem since

My dog is forever ripping his stoppers, even just out on exercise. Try wrapping the legs up in a bit of vet wrap, gives a bit of protection. Just don't do it too tight.

Same here with my bitch, i vet wrap her now just for a short walk cos 9 times out of 10 she`ll flush summat and give chase,

I`ve heard these flyball competitors have come up with some kind of re usable strapping !!! anyone know owt about it ???????????????

Yis Mars.

You could try googling flyball sites and see if they give any info but some sort of boot similar to brushing boots on horses would be an idea, give support but they don't inhibit movement.

Sirocco a stopper is the pad on the back of a dogs leg between the 'ankle' and knee they are the same as the pads on thier feet and easily injured when running over rough ground although my lad rips his on just about any surface!

I would think if they are used for flyball then they would be pretty robust. Might be an idea to loosely tape them up though in case they get caught on any undergrowth. The rugby team use a bit of electrical tape (I think) for holding boot laces, holding socks up etc, something like that should do the trick.
