these had mixy fleas on them. mate dont want them for his birds so in the skip they go.

what a waste.

 

so tell me, how do you identify a flea with mixy compared to a normal rabbit flea

did you open them up and check the livers??

mixy cannot be passed over to either animal or humans (only rabbits)

The fleas are harmless, come spring/summer they will all be crawling in them...

We obviously get a better class of rabbit down south, relatively few fleas ever (but we are not immune from mixxy)!

I couldn't help a little chuckle at "mixxy fleas"....I am very impressed, can you tell me how I can identify one please. And...Stubby is right, since Myxomatosis was introduced around 55 years ago no case has ever been reported in any human or animal other than rabbit!

they were the first ones i have had wich was so infested.so took them to my mate who has birds of prey on his advise i dispoed of them he wouldnt feed them to his birds . were learning every DAY :doh: but i suppose i must do this :icon_redface:

Not sure what your bird friend was thinking about, perhaps he just thought the birds may get fleas. But, just think about all the bunnies who get mixxy in the wild, they make an easy meal for fox, badger, corvids, birds of prey, etc, etc. :victory:

mixy fleas :laugh::laugh: sorry mate made me chuckle, next time you take them to your mate skin them first in the field & he will never know the difference, i bet he has them off you then :thumbs:
