I never said it was normal, I just didn't like the reply you gave. You seem to be a knowlegable bloke, and in most of your posts you give very good advice, but in others you come across as a bit of an a**ehole. Why do you feel the need to be so critical?

Go for your ticket and include every conviction on the application, If you can't remember all the details you can get that information from the police for a small charge, Last year we at SACs got a refusal overturned in favour of a member who had served an 18 months prison term for serious assault some years ago, every application is treated on its own merits and there's always the appeals system

Right or wrong, the standard standpoint is that your attitude should be 'walk away'. They will be concerned, thinking about what if someone threatened you with a gun? I don't know or pretend to know the circumstances, but to the firearms people everything tends to be in black and white, irrespective of reality. Try it, they might be having an unusally logical day...

Any advice greatly apreciated, I got a caution for ABH in 2005 and some minor stuff when I was younger (when I was "advised to withdraw my application" for fighting and being a normal 20 something male??

 

More I hear though the less chance you have of getting a cert!

What you need to remember is, you never know how reads these threads it could be you local firearms officer, this wouldnt help your case.

 

 

Just go for your ticket if you dont get it you get your money back anyway, if you lose you can appeal but it can be costly.

With an angry general attitude like you've shown here, and your caution for ABH only 4 years ago, applicants like yourself should get rejected straight away.

 

If anyone need to be in possesion of firearms and shotguns it need to be calm relaxed people, not angry people like yourself, who are liable to boil over without a moments notice.

 

Dont bother applying, have a little drink of water, but most importantly of all JUST REMAIN CALM
