Ratman2 2
Your best bet would be to join the BASC or the SACS, and then get them to look at your case. If your convictions are spent, and you've behaved yourself since, you would stand a good chance in getting your certificate. The local poilice might not like it, but you do have rights. And ratman 2, what gives you the right to decide what's normal and what aint? a lot of your posts seem to be about putting people down, and telling folk what to do. If you havn't got anything constructive to add to a post, why bother replying? Get a life. Well! that would be the same right that gives you the right to ask what right I have. Quote Link to post

damashaman 1
so deker you happen to know everything about me and ironically to do with the circumstances of the abh charge fkn mind reader, or are you the guy I smashed up for threatening me with a bottle, you know that night of my birthday when i GOT LOCKED UP FOR 18 HOURS WHEN YOU WERE IN HOSPITAL, SOBERING UP. All when I was just minding my own business with some friends, well after all you did have numerous previous for threatening to stab people (in front of an officer of the law) and numerous phone calls to the police about your threats to neighbours etc etc. Probably why I got just a caution. IN THIS WORLD YOUR DAMNED IF YOU DO AND YOUR DAMNED IF YOU DONT If you walk away you get called a coward, if you protect yourself with "reasonable force" what as I did in my opinion, against a much larger man with a cutter, you are then classified as a thug? Many thanks to everybody else! Quote Link to post

You seem to be a knowlegable bloke, and in most of your posts you give very good advice, but in others you come across as a bit of an a**ehole. Why do you feel the need to be so critical? Foxgun Tom 75
Go for your ticket and include every conviction on the application, If you can't remember all the details you can get that information from the police for a small charge, Last year we at SACs got a refusal overturned in favour of a member who had served an 18 months prison term for serious assault some years ago, every application is treated on its own merits and there's always the appeals system All The Best Tom Quote Link to post

Many thanks to everybody else! Right or wrong, the standard standpoint is that your attitude should be 'walk away'. They will be concerned, thinking about what if someone threatened you with a gun? I don't know or pretend to know the circumstances, but to the firearms people everything tends to be in black and white, irrespective of reality. Try it, they might be having an unusally logical day... Quote Link to post

Hi Compo You mean something like "I got a caution for ABH in 2005" Perhaps?? YOU NEED TO GET YOUR HEAD LOOKED AT seems apparent you do have some issues! I know F**k all about you except what you said........ Any advice greatly apreciated, I got a caution for ABH in 2005 and some minor stuff when I was younger (when I was "advised to withdraw my application" for fighting and being a normal 20 something male?? Just go for your ticket if you dont get it you get your money back anyway, if you lose you can appeal but it can be costly. Quote Link to post

If anyone need to be in possesion of firearms and shotguns it need to be calm relaxed people, not angry people like yourself, who are liable to boil over without a moments notice. Dont bother applying, have a little drink of water, but most importantly of all JUST REMAIN CALM Quote Link to post
