nippie ferret

Recommended Posts

i put some vinigar in a child medicne feeder one of those syringes with no needle and sprayed its mouth when they bite me stops them within a few minits

Good god you would pretty much have to wrestle a ferret to administer anything to it orally, so if you can do that much with a biter , why the need for the vinagar :hmm:

I think the bitter taste method is probably one of the best ways for a "nippy" ferret, but 70% of it is not to fear your ferret in the first place, look at the size of a ferret, even a big hob, sure when they bite it hurts, but no more than wacking your thumb with a hammer or kneeling on a hawthorn, it aint gonna be life threatening, so be brave,be confident, and use the vinegar to make sure you taste like shite, should soon have a well behaved stinker.

Yep the old vinegar trick does work, handy for the chips after a day out as well!!

Personally I prefer to use small jills they disturb the nets less than a big hob.

Years ago we only ran jills lose and used a hob on a line if we got a lay up!!!

Who remembers that old method?

Bussa is right though a spade is good!

I tried Vinegar on our 2 new girls. Works on the bigger Auntie, but her neice, who is a little fiesty loves the stuff and licks it off, then wants to fight with you more :)

I have told my son to tap them on the side of the mouth when they bite? Good or not?

They dont really bite, just nip. They are playfull buggers.
