Expand I don't know I'm not from round here mate the land looks like it would suit them but there just not here, reading mackems reply it may be that they don't do well here for whatever reason but do in neighbouring counties it's a weird one isn't it. OldPhil 5,877
The biggest problem we have had 'darn sarf',.. for many years,..is that once you give a farm or estate a good pasting with the dogs, ferrets, nets, traps and snares,.. plus the night shooting,.. the land, doesn't appear to lend itself to regeneration,..in short, once you have done' em,. you have fecking done' em.. Most of the big arable farms locally, have installed drop boxes, along miles of rabbit proof fencing,...and this,.. alongside the inevitable myxy,.. has depleted the rabbit population.... I've seen this coming for several decades, and freely admit to being a part of the Coney's demise. Personally,...I cannot ever see our rabbits returning in big numbers.... gnipper 6,617
Plenty of hares around and more deer than there has ever been but the rabbits are still struggling. The past couple of years they seem to be trying to recover but they don't seem to be breeding like rabbits and replenishing their numbers. 4 Quote Link to post
