Interesting comments guys, as i was growing up,  in my square mile nearly all the anglers i knew took part in another field sport or had done so in the past. A lot of us went on those marches and showed our support for Hunting. Its not the same now as far fewer anglers nowadays take part in another field sport.

Environmental agency are going to view the area. Specially with the drone footage a pal of mine has taken on the Fifish drone. No life at all its sickening mate. Like a say we had chub , barbel , grayling , eel , just at the bottom of the weir.

There's a few break offs here channels that go down then back into the main river. In them break offs that fork off. There used to be a family of barbel an trout , chub . Then just back on the main stretch eel , grayling , roach,  bream , perch.

Some parts of the Calder are holding decent fish. Look at this young man beaming from his biggest wild browie. We need to fight for the next generations. Hopefully they won't have to fight then.

I remember when it got privatised and in Devon South West Water said because of the large coast line Devon and Cornwall has we would have to pay more. Pay more to clean the coast and rivers up that was 1989 so they had all the money and sky rocketed that. Not one reservoir since privatisation and the rivers and coastal water f****d.

I live in Spain and pay for water  mate. Not sure where you’ve got that from.

To add; Barcelona has the worst water quality in all of Spain and one of, if not the worst in Europe. Minerals and metals clog taps, showers, your hair and body. I’ve got filters everywhere and change them at least four times a year. If you have an old place you’ll have the green copper stains around taps etc… plus it ain’t cheap. Rivers are rank aswell esp’ after the annual floods. Fanny pads and bog roll up and down the banks.

You're absolutely right mate. it was on of them things I was told the other day and like a fool never checked.

I live in Canada mate, I think we have something 20% of the Worlds fresh water and we still have to pay for it, and in lots of areas its shite or worse poisoning people

It doesn't matter what country where you are living water is not free over here in the UK water rates have gone up its a source we all need it we all have to pay for it the water companies that supplies us all they intend to do is take your money and lie about their improving their quality of water and if you question then about why water bills going. Up to the company we STILL WAITING FOR A ANSWER FROM. THEN

The farms are killing the rivers round here. A local stream that once teemed with sticklebacks is now an open slurry store. All the little farms are gone and have been added to the big farms, they just intensively farm grass for silage. Then the spread the slurry. Rivers that 10 years ago were full of fish and we were talking about seeing sea trout again and hoping for salmon returning.....now are back to the industrial era stage of just being dead entities. Big chub and 2lb wild trout disappeared. 

Absolutely disgusting. I'm no grass, especially of farmers, many of whom I know or know their families.....but fck me when you see it you get severely tempted to make a complaint. Not that it would do any good
