I had a look at one the other week, nice looking rifle. Cheers stillair1

Loads of info on the airgun bbs. The standard is around 30ftlb with bisley mags. As your in the area, Ben Taylor and son at harston knows more than anyone about Rapids.

Any more info you can mail me.

Neil

LOL :no::no::doh: Cannot agree with that no way ..Many many better people for rapids than him .Ive Pmd you two names mate who are leagues ahead of Taylor ..A rapid done properly is the way to go no doubt .100+ shots at 30FTLBS .Use air arms pellets superb ..

Well I suspect that is possible, but I find it hard to believe as BEN Taylor is the ben at the end of Theoben!!!

May be he WAS but he was better known for his aftersales service LOL Ask anyone in the trade Shite.Who developed the first reg? Who improved the valve stems? Who stole others designs? Now he has stopped stocking rapids .Who claimed there regs on S410 s improved shot count at the cost of low powered guns?Goes on and on .Now Sam at CS??? haha ask the boy himself who showed him to port a rapid properly. Camgun you know me so any info PM and Ill help all I can  Ripley ?? Very well made gun but do need a reg at FAC or they are inconsistant run one at FAC over a chrono and watch . :D

I would'nt like to say who developed the first regs for pcp's Donny, but they have been about since at least '87 when a certain chappy (Mike wade) had one on his hand built pcp to my knowledge. Other names that spring to mind would be Barry Mcgraw and Mike Dawes in the early days.

Another vote for the Theoben Rapid (a few pictures below). Superb hunting rifle and I bought mine from Ben Taylor for his legendary "tweaks" to improve performance, including new regulator and numerous other adjustments. I shoot @ 30ft/lbs and @ 34ft/lbs, the latter with Bisley Magnums. (Yes I know I had the bipod round the wrong way in that third pic, hehe).

The Rapid is pure brute force, highly accurate and totally dependable. Get on, you won't regret it.

Below is a graph showing trajectory of the 30ft/lb pellet (AA Field) compared with the 34/ft/lb Bisley Magnum. Note: at 160 yards, the Magnum has 12ft/lbs of retained energy left ;-)
