Mole catching in an original full wood barrel trap

This was an old probably commercially available trap (at one time), from the 50s/60s i reckon this one, which was in not bad condition for its age,....the spring seemed strong enough, so I put it to work,.....

I'm looking for any examples of these old traps, both full & half barrel types (wooden),....if anybodys anything for sale, thanks.

I got a couple of more modern versions one made of Ali an one made of placcy pipe and  an old wooden one somewhere in me unit, the Ali pipe one off lifelong Cumbrian catches best I think tho

They were common before the invention of the duffus, half barrel, & were still available alongside these newer metal traps, for a short while, apparently

Aye, I'm aware of the makers of these more modern versions,....both very good traps ! (I'd be interested in your wooden one, etc)

I bet Ken’s Deputy who used to come on here had a few he had all sorts of traps, I looked them up after you posted before and they are rocking horse shit good luck with the search.

I wonder why he left,very good poster,kept a snapping turtle in the house,an alternative sort of chap.

He was a very good poster eccentric but smart, just before he left he contacted me as I had an interest in his turtle but I never kept in touch as busy with work at the time, I hope he’s keeping well would be good if he returned but I don’t think he will.
