Yes,. .Anastasia produced a better class of Deerhound for the original job, and some, were even passable at organised hare coursing,.. (although it was never their proper vocation).. Back in the

Didn't one or two of them soldiers stay out 30 year or something....like one of mchull dogs reeling a hare in...lol

I was the judge and gave it “Champion Lurcher” , based solely on looks, condition, conformation and temperament. Its impossible to judge on working ability unless you have personally seen the dog

I’ve had plenty dogs gifted, I’d rather gift a dog that would get used than sell one that didn’t.

Shes just came out of season,I didn’t want to breed from a three year old, two season bitch, another season under her belt should be ok .

Cheers.

I used to think like that when I was younger and yes in an ideal world it great to have pups from both parents that have been to the moon n back and remained durable intact the last bitch I bred was 3 year ago she was 7 and she had so much work you'd think it was cruel but she thrived on it just bullet proof but as iv gotten older and you realise time doesn't stand still id of had to of lined that bitch I you mentioned plus your older than me, if you like her and shes doing all you want and you've tested her as much as you can in that time it should be ok and can't see much changing jmo

In the grand scheme of things it probably won’t make much difference, but in my own mind four is just a good age, she’ll have had three full seasons of work and still be relatively young enough to get back into shape and have many more seasons of work.

it’s only my own opinion, wether it’s right or not, I don’t know.

I never knock anyone for what they do with their own dogs, within reason.

I know Australian lads breed their dogs from a young age and when I asked why they said there is a huge rate of attrition from things like heat, snakes , boars, etc, and good dogs don’t make old bones, but I don’t think that applies here.

Three, four, five, it doesn’t make a huge difference, just my opinion that at three, the dog could do with another season of work, especially big, slow maturing dogs like deerhound crosses.

Cheers.

That fawn dog is beating greyhounds on the track over 440 mate, and the black dog is so fast over 200 it could do the next 100 at a trot and beat any saluki coursing bred ! LOL !

You think of whippets, but these aren’t the roach backed, shivering things you see, these are running machines.
