lurchers 2,917
Ya might be using the wrong type of traps mate, them old wooden ones are shite with the pin in the middle.Get on eBay and buy some decent ones mate and make sure the bait is fastened on tight,so they can’t just lift it off
TOMO 27,227
Yeh some of the plastic ones do that...I was watching a mouse in my dining room taking bait off one...I got it in the end...
pesky1972 5,413
Had similar using the cheap wooden ones where the bait is cleaned right off the catch. Also had an issue using them in the garage with woodlice eating peanut butter right off them.

Arry 22,996
I used to catch them with the old style mike bottles. Just used to prop the milk bottle at about 45% against an old rag or some thing put bit of biscuit in the bottle and a few crumbs scattered about. They go in and cant jump out just take them out somewhere and let them go. Must be the old bottles that were taller and tapered more slowly. Cheers Arry

Greyman 29,701
Plastic snappers or electric zappers, my daughter keeps an electric one in her motor home when it’s in storage seems to work pretty fast and effectively and are very east to make yourself with a length of plastic waste pipe and one of those square 9v battery’s, I personally like the plastic snappers put one down and ten wooden ones the plastic will catch 9/10
