Pardus 516
Love this clip without commentary, you get a greater appreciation when you hear the shots thudding in. It makes you realise that it just wasn't one lucky punch as Moorer liked to claim. The iconic moment George Foreman became two-time heavyweight champion... gnasher16 30,598
I used to have an old Vhs video called " Champions Forever " it might be on Youtube or something.....it was about the big 5 heavyweights Ali,Frazier,Foreman,Norton and Holmes all being interviewed and talking about each other,it always struck me how honest and humble Foreman was.....all the others still had a bit of attitude even as old men but Foreman came across really well....the way he described being terrified of Ken Norton and using the " my shoes were too big " excuse for losing to Ali.....maybe it was the whole God thing but he seemed like a man really comfortable in his own skin, did his best and could live a life without regrets......a massive thing for a fighter. Seemed like a genuinely lovely fella id of loved to sit down and have a natter with him for a few hours.....RIP Big George. Regards the whole Tyson v Foreman thing.....it was actually Muhammad Ali that privately told Foreman not to fight Tyson....make of it what you will. I've seen that many times over, Foreman was the man that gelled them together. When things got heated between them he was the pacifier. In his first career he was known as the next Liston, stern and mean, after his hiatus he was the lovable bear. He'll always been known as one of the most destructive HW's of all time. Someone asked me once " who do you think would have won a fight between Foreman first career and Foreman second career ".....fascinating question i thought as they were such different fighters.....i actually opted for second as his punch resistance just seemed ridiculous second time round......Holyfield hit him with everything and barely moved him ! Thats why in your quote above about foreman v tyson, foreman will have steamed right over him, remember when tyson came up against it he always fell, and theres nobody would have had him under more pressure that big George.
