Some folk i have found can't seem to gel with spaniels same as i can't with terriers. 3 Quote Link to post
Chevy Chase 91
I’d rather something like this than a spaniel as a general little busher/mooching dog Quote Link to post

I had her for a week once when he was on holiday and gelled with her straight away as she was very chilled out and easy to live with then turned into a different little dog once she was out on the land. 3 Quote Link to post

This type of Spaniel/Beddy /Whippet hybrid, is real handy for the Bushing/Mouching style of hunting,...almost boundless, non-stop hunting and amazing energy,...not much gets past that exceptional nose.. 14 Quote Link to post
Chevy Chase 91
I knew a keeper who had a cocker x beddy whippet from an accidental mating she was a great little dog 1 Quote Link to post

saluki bouy 767 Posted Thursday at 19:29 Report Share Posted Thursday at 19:29 I’ve a little cocker x patterdale bitch going on 11 now i think lad of here bred her down in Barnsley what a bitch she’s been one of the most enjoyable dogs I’ve owned still put the miles in now never stops but far easier than a spaniel and won’t drop in turned her hat to everything apart from digging and being shot over but neithers my cup of tea would have another tomorrow if the right litter came up Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537 Posted Thursday at 20:36 Report Share Posted Thursday at 20:36 Ronda's 11 now, APBT x Cocker, both sides working bred. In 50 years of ratting she's the best i've ever seen, bar none...! As a busher she's decent enough, no Beagle cross, but she finds well, on all quarry. Gives tongue like a hound when she does, and puts so much gear out for my lurcher. She can kill a fox, go to ground, if the hole is big enough. Carry birds back as if they are made of glass, and is as loyal as I've ever known a dog... Maybe I should of bred from her, but though I simply don’t breed these days, she's so neurotic she's so difficult at home. True, I never had her as a puppy (9- 12 months old) I believe the pitbull/cocker mix gives a dog more 'needy' than either parent. And I was never going to put that on anyone, even if i've lost something 'special'... It's like Malenios stuck in a kennel with no stimulation. It really is for the specialist. And so i've let it go. I know I'll regret it... Quote Link to post

I missed them when they were first offered, but thankfully was asked again, at around 10/12 months Quote Link to post
