And who'd want 3/4 of the blood to come from a breed that very very rarely does any serious type of work these days anyway

Decent beddy blood as been thin on the ground for years I personally think the only way to get decent beddy blood in Lurchers is from beddy bred Lurcher bitzas only problem is with beddy Lurcher’s is people are hung up on the f1 or 1/4 bred thing

This type of Spaniel/Beddy /Whippet hybrid, is real handy for the Bushing/Mouching style of hunting,...almost boundless, non-stop hunting and amazing energy,...not much gets past that exceptional nose

This is a cross I'd much prefer

depends how they throw, this first cross has thrown more to Bedlington, never had a lot of pace but enough to get by. she's 8 now and has lost what bit she had, her strength has always been hunting, m

Lovely looking little dog that....anymore pics?

No it was just on a FB page. After keeping black terriers for over 25years before packing in with the digging job I often thought that if I ever got a little bushing/ratting type lurcher that it would be a cross I'd quite fancy.I know a mate of mine who had quite a leggy black dog that had a really good digging career was asked by some lads who did a lot of ratting a couple of years back if they could use it on a greyhound bitch.Dont know if anything ever came of it.

Like some have said regarding good beddy blood if i was contemplating a good small bushing lurcher and mooching about with the catty i would sooner take a go with a whippet x spaniel tbh and that's based on a few of this cross I have seen.

I’ve never seen this cross but I’d sooner take a chance on this cross as a busher than the modern beddy x whippet bred a spaniel x whippet makes so much sense for this job and seems less a risk of you getting a dog incapable of the job

I'd go for two dogs, one 3/4 whippet 1/4 terrier and one 3/4 terrier 1/4 whippet to cover all areas.

Spaniel crosses are often talked about, but seldom seen.

I honestly think a lot of it comes down to folk who keep spaniels and use them for let's say bushing with lurchers like i have done in the past and decide to have a litter out of a bitch and putting a whippet over it will know finding homes for the said cross might not be as easy as finding homes for pure spaniels. The odd crosses of this breeding i have heard about this breeding have been accidental matings tbh though those i first heard about over 40 years ago the first mating was an accident though how good the pup's made for bushing and scrounging dogs the next same breeding was done purposely.
