The mrs only lost one pig dog to snakes and she was out hunting a lot with a pack of dogs, they probably just run past them and the snakes don't get a chance to strike. Someone told me to try wrapping a dead snake with electric fence to stop the terriers but I don't think they had dealt with such highly driven dogs. 3 Quote Link to post
BGD 6,437
Just popped on here for the first time in ages and seen this. Really sorry to hear Buck was a real cracker of a dog, I remember you posting him as a wee pup and watched him grow into the fine beast he was always really admired him. Real shame you never got any pups out of him. Hope you're keeping well pal. 1 Quote Link to post

Ray we had some good times old chap. Trigger will be very sad. He loved that dog. I'm just glad I got the chance to see him as a young dog working his arse off up the Dales. You had a dream and you lived it mate. Not many can say that these days. 1 Quote Link to post

What going to do when I move to my new bungalow in south staffs , it got a garage side of the bungalow. I will get a shed put it in there, as it lead in to my kitchen. I going for a mature male lurcher something about 5 year old.i to old for pups now 73 this August.so older dog is what it will be. Now I know most lurchers kept outside, so bit harder to house train pee/ shit. Well I think having.it in shed. But with in kitchen at 1st I can slowly get to know that he goes in garden at back , once it clicks with him that he goes out, it should get plus I always took Buck last thing st night for 15 - 20.mins for piss , but that old bugger chase the odd fix on to the near by golf course, and ended up fookin 1 hour for a piss lol. Not sure what end up , maybe colliex greyx pit x grey type, just bit of brain and coat there.. I ask on here about July if anyone of any think any good knocking about. Ray 3 Quote Link to post
gnasher16 30,597
Thats sad to read Ray you always come across as a nice chap who really cared for his dog......have some time out now mate particularly if you live alone it will make a new arrival at some point all the more special.....i think that " get straight back on the horse " attitude wears a bit thin as we get older......summers round the corner enjoy some fresh air and get yourself out and about, all the very best mate.
