Theres always been an element of that though mate in my experience most of the chaps who were actually busy at that lark back when it was popular see it for what it was nowadays.....just young lads having a laugh and look back and reminisce about in that way.

Whereas chaps who were never around it in the first place now want to talk about it like its the most important thing in the world and always was !

Like many other things it was part of young English lads culture but its gone now.

Sub- Cuture kids are almost extinct. 

The terrace clobber culture is now massive, which I find a bit strange really. Not that there's anything wrong with the clothing as a style, but it's how much they are coming up with these days. Trying too hard to find 'new and exiting' lines from brands that, back in the day, there really wasn't that much choice in. I look at these new shops choc-full of styles and colours I've never seen before, most of which were never there back in the day...

Thank feck I lived through it (loved it) but as Gnash says above, some of it just sparks a memory... (Though I'd never wear any other trabs out, but Adidas classics )

I've noticed that there's a lot of kids at my girls school that have their different styles.Skater style.Gothy type kids,Rock metal types.Shes at the local grammer and it was very much like that when I was at school.The comprehensive that I went to se never got on with the kids at the grammer that she's at untill I got to about 14 and started smoking puff and doing mushrooms then me and my best mate became pals with 4 or 5 girls from the grammer,Then when I left school and got straight into the local rave scene the only kids I saw at the raves my age were all the grammer school kids I went to school with were getting pissed and punching lumps out each other for fun.Its funny that if Im in town.And it still seems the same if you see the kids from the comp now they all look and dress exactly the same like a load of typical little chavs

Absolutely right........perfect example, id have torn somebodies throat out to own these years ago.

Now i dont need them they're ten a penny !!

It must have been a Scottish thing....ive gotta be honest ive not heard of them and i always booked myself as reasonably knowledgeable of that era's trotters......are they nylon ?.....running shoes types ?......dont ever remember a running type shoe being the thing back then....of the Adidas back then if it wasnt either Samba,Super Samba,Forest Hills,Trimm Trab,Beckenbaur,Hamburg was it and maybe a few others then you just wasnt the kiddie....certainly not nylons, or maybe the memories fading

Adidas Samba, Mamber, Bamber & Kick.

Kick were the cheapest and worn mainly by the younger kids. Though they were the most hard-wearing and made the best street footy trabs.

If you couldn't afford Adidas, Mitre Memphis offered Samba style but much more affordable.
