Still buy the odd thing off here when Im having a "moment" more for nostalgia than anything  80’s Casual Classics: 80s Casuals, Fila Vintage, Sergio Tacchini, Adidas Originals, Ellesse, Pretty Green.

My brother ran the skins UK website for a number of years. I went to one of the get togethers in Bristol and I was surprised how much clothes were part of the scene with skins I thought it was just doc martins, fred perry, braces and jeans but they were right into their fashion.

I’ve had a few things off there

Yep thats the ones chunky cords but in light blue. I still have a weakness for trainers though and at my age I can still get away with a pair of stan smiths as long as its with a nice shirt and a pair of chino's. Im not quite at the elastic band trousers yet (unless its around the house) and as Bob Mortimer said the elastic waistband man is a happy man!

Oooo not sure about that.....white trotters over the age of 40 is a big no no for me i think the only trainers us older gents can really pull off are the old Super Samba or them dark lightweight ones......i must have 20 pairs of 80's trainers still in the original boxes upstairs.....im not really a hoarder as such just cant bring myself to sling them out

For me, a funny fad of late is this casuals/football hooligan thing middle aged blokes who like football seem to be trying propagate……my pal seems to be into it, bless his heart, he probably chooses to ignore the fact some of us remember he would dive under the table if it went off somewhere when we was young things ! lol

The only difference between him at 22 and him now is that he has no hair and wares a corset to keep his beer gut in check ! lol

We’ve had hipsters, peakies, etc still get the North Face lot.. I go to rocker bars but it is rare to see sub-cultures en masse in the streets. I’ve even see the hippy types here wearing those pants that make them look like they’ve shit themselves (which was big) disappear over the last 14 years.

I’m drs, jeans/pants and shirts/polos I’m winter and shorts, T-shirts and flip flops the other 9months

Bunch of tramps. The best trainers ever were ZX 600’s, (the original grey/yellow/black) absolutely no contest. Turn up in a pair of them early 80’s and even the dog’s bollocks turned green. Originally came out early 80’s.., then re-released 2005, before another release last year. I’ve bought them each time (two pair of the original colour scheme + two other colours last year). When they came out in the 80’s they were twice the money of ‘ordinary’ trainers and sorted the dressers out from the rest.

Same here. I know blokes here who are in their fifties and think they’re part of a crew but when they were young and should have been into it, were nowhere near it. Like a lot of things, music is another one.., few lads I know all over the Stone Roses gigs a few years ago, but when I was listening to Fools Gold in ‘89 they were into Guns and fcukin Roses.., no joke. All a bit pathetic really.
