Mobile phones.

Recommended Posts

Went into a pub this morning and there's a young punk girl behind the bar. She's typing at record speed using her thumbs ( that's an evolutionary skill which passed my by) and completely ignoring me at the bar. Eventually she looks up and serves me. She's pulling a pint when she receives a message and stops pulling my pint  to read the message.

Not long back there's a lad in charge of  a Stop Go lollipop at some temporary road works. He's completely immersed in his phone and ignoring the frustrated car drivers waiting in line. Eventually a trucker kept his horn on permanently until he swivelled his lollipop. My generation would have been sacked on the spot. I'm not hankering for those days but feck me put your phones away kids. God knows how teachers manage in a classroom full of phone addicted teenagers.

Wherever you look young people are on their phones. It's like they are frightened of being alone. My Mrs is always  at me to take my phone whenever I go out for a walk or fishing. I keep explaining to her I want to be on my own not messaged or phoned.

Mobiles are useful in certain situations but an uneccessary hassle a lot of the time.

I watched 4 blokes standing over a hole (Gass works) no work being doing all 4 texting.

Wifey said the other day "I tried calling you when you was out walking" I said I turned the phone off. She said "what if there was an emergency " I said I would have turn it back on, she was not amused.

Cheers Arry

My new image of jukel123...lol

That's you spurned from now on.

And by the way. I am only a plastic jock. A dyed in the wool jock would have leapt over the bar and nutted then  throttled the girl. The lad with the sign would have had it shoved up his arse.

Be glad you don't have to work with them, I'm rather short on that front these days and my kids won't be having phones as long as is humanly possible....

Your turning into your stereotypical grouchy old man.

Mobile phones are invaluable, far better than pagers, just ask Hamas.
