Well, we deserve them. We had fcuk all as kids.., lived on the street all hours of the day and night with nothing to do but go looking in hedgerows for old scud books. Few prospects upon leaving school, 4m on the dole so loads of families on the breadline. 3 channels on the telly.., and most of that was sh!t. Everything I have I’ve worked for. I work with guys in their 20’s and 30’s and find their entitled whinging attitudes lamentable. They grew up with annual holidays abroad, central heating, Sky TV, spaghetti bolognese, PS and X-box, and Apple phones and tablets with access to limitless amounts of information, but wasted it by spending most of their time w4nking over grannies and midgets. It’s all take and no give. They’ll turn the world into an even bigger freak show than it is now, and blame it all on privileged white men. Nah, my advice if you’ve managed to put a bit behind you is make plans now to piss it all away before the clock runs down. Leave nothing behind for the mooching millennials and the succession of crooked b4stards masquerading as politicians they’ll vote in to run what’s left of the country. Yes they will have suffered like the rest of the lads. It didn't help them still working did it. She still closed all the pits. eastcoast 4,216
Smiled when reading the spag boll references. Probably the 1st "exotic" food when us working class were becoming more adventurous with our pallet, certainly the 1st attempted to cook at home. My mam made great ones, we all loved it, apart from dad. It would have fallen into his "foreign muck " category at the time. That changed when the ability to eat out and enjoy holidays outside of the UK was no longer the preserve of upper and middle class. He would eat it but drew the line at spaghetti, we had to have it with chips. Mam expanded into chile con carne. Came home one day after looking forward to that meal after a day on my YTS (cheap labour, no chance of being offered a proper job when they finished) only to find out it had been cooked to dad's spec. No garlic, no chilies (flakes back then), no red peppers, no paprika, and no red kidney beans. Co-Op best mince fried with a tin of baked beans. It had to be eaten, or go hungry. Dad's comment on my complaint was "you know your problem lad? Ya mother's got you spoiled rotten!"
