I've lived in Scotland over 50 years and often been called an English b*****d. Catholic b*****d too. But, to be fair, I am a bit of a c**t. So fair play.

Aye but that was your in-laws calling you jt haha that’s a term of endearment where we come from haha

It’s not just him……it’s not just a Labour thing or a Tory thing……it’s a Westminster thing  It’s a European governments thing….. Starmer is one of thousands

Only on THL would you have someone arguing with themselves ! Amazing ! lol

Why would anyone want the British in the peace talks when it was Boris that scuppered the Minsk Accord under the instructions of the Yank's. Another cnut with an enormous amount of blood on his hands

It’s always an Irishman that comes out with the “the English are hated all over the world”

Today alone I’ve had separate calls with Aussies, swedes, Flemish and Canadians. Everyone gets on well, in fact I generally think it’s a defining trait of the English.

Were still one of the highest rank soft power nations in the world because our ‘brand’ is desired not hated.

The ironic thing is I've picked up a scots twang over the years. So I'm called a scotch c**t  by my English 'friends' when I cross the border. When I correct them and explain they should call me a Scots  c**t and not a scotch c**t because the latter refers to whisky or to scottish produce, they still call me a scotch c**t for trying to educate them. What can you do?

Why did your think they didn’t invade ?

Why would he brother ?……I’d imagine those small Baltic states combined don’t have a tenth of the value of Ukraine…..the very, very massive Ukraine.

You just don’t allow something like that to go to hostile powers so that can sit on your doorstep buck shee…..as I said, it’s a force multiplier and those other states are not.

Bollocks, if they were being persecuted like the Russian propaganda said so, they could have very easily moved to the Motherland, I'm sure Putin would have arranged this if that was his main concern, his people. Lol

What a foolish thing to say……like every Catholic & Republican can move from Northern Ireland to the republic and of course they can…..but ask them if they want to and tell them why they should !

Are you seriously trying to suggest that this is the reason for invading Ukraine? Where is your evidence that Russians in Ukraine have been persecuted? Putin needs to make his mind up, is it NATO expansion or the persecution of his people? Or perhaps he's just a lying tyrant?

No, what a stupid question……

Not everyone views the world in the childlike, 2 dimensional frame that you seem to.

These things are never about just one thing, they are always a culmination of various factors.

Provocative NATO expansion is given as the reason as Putin invaded Ukraine. Trump now appears to back Vlad. But the supreme allied commander of NATO is always an American. So isn't Trump criticising his own country's past  actions?

It's best not to take Trump's statements too seriously. He's thrown a firwork into the situation to  confuse and keep everybody guessing.

But there will be hundreds of serious minded officials brokering a deal behind the scenes. Nothing to get excited about imo.

You see it in one dimension, I mean you are seriously trying to justify Russia invading another sovereign nation. They are the aggressors, not Ukraine, how dare Ukraine try and defend their country.

Ok, theyre hared by the irish, the scots, the argies, the pakistanis, the indians, the auzzies, the french, the spaniards, the russians, etc,

I was at that WW1 museum near Bangor many years ago, as the bloke took the group round we came to a room with a massive wall size photo of British troops all parading.

There was a group of like 2000 all marching in one direction and then a single bloke marching in the opposite direction.

The bloke turns to me, obviously having noticed by my Noel Coward-esque accent that I was English, and says “Spot the Englishman in that photo”

So I say him, pointing at the single bloke and he says how can you tell.

So I say, I don’t know ? And your man says “He is the only one going in the right direction” lol

Thats how people see us and they are right, we are a bunch of snobs and we have no idea that we are.

Im cool with it, I like the fact you can make a mass generalisation about various peoples…..it’s funny and we were all brought up on it……I embrace my snobbish English label.

My brother Stiff has done you a massive favour by giving credence to your childlike ramblings and demented attempts to provoke reactions…..he has bestowed upon you a legitimacy that is frankly not warranted because he is smart and you’re a total f***ing idiot ! lol

Ukraine did start the war with thousands of Minsk ceasefire violations during the 9 days preceding the 2022 invasion. Amassed 150k troops to invade Donbass. Began bombing civilians in 2014.
