I want one more of a companion on mooching about and an house dog when i retire in a couple of year's time already this is causing friction between me and the wife as she is adamant we are having a spaniel. I have two years to change her mind the clock is ticking. 😂

Get a liver and white one..or black and white...

Or even better get one that's crossed with a saluki ....it will have those gay looking ears...

A spaniel will pull on the lead. As you know they are high energy/ driven.  Not good for a lady pensioner. Just arrive home with a  cute whippet pup as a present for her. Wrap it in a pink  bow. Job done.

Trust me mate she won't buy it after a lifetime of marriage to me being around running dogs and the only one she got attached to was my fx saluki greyhound that I had to have put to sleep due to a very bad injury she never really got attached to any of my lurchers that came after though the springers i have owned she would walk them and become attached to them.

We bought a whippet pup just as a pet. I promised the Mrs I wouldn't work it. After a lifetime of late night adventures, injuries to the lurchers and outside dogs, I'm a reformed character. Mutt is spoiled to f**k and the wife's toy. Fair dos.She gets a real bang out of it.

I do miss bringing up a lurcher, entering it , mooching and lamping though. But time catches up.

Well, as wrote on here few times, I had none ped little bitch 20in 20 Ln,  great racer, and good on rabbits day/ night. Was very faithful  dog, follow me anywhere  .she did grab few hares,  but by time got to her she loosed them  lol. The malesvdown the track where full on  hit. 23in 35lb pile into foxes no prob.  A lad down the track had 2 brothers  fawn , red/fawn  nice dogs deadly on cats,  you could see  little bit of staff in there heads ,  not so much as the bitches.ok with dogs, but if  dog went for one of them  the other  pile in, OK.not big dogs,  but like greyhounds  can bite very quick deff. I did think at one time about getting one for the future , think  this could  poss be Buck last year he 13 in August, and that fookin  lump got bigger. But I keep my dogs outside so what ever  get need a good coat, so prob just get ex worker  when that sad day comes.

gl is the man mate he’s around some corkers

To be fair mate he is probably one the guys I’d get in contact with when time comes, iv always really waited for litters. What I do most lurchers can do, some better than other but I don’t mind how good they are as long as they try haha so iv always waited for good litters off guys who have thought about what they doing an had previous success. Part of reason I do what I do is I enjoy bringing young dogs on, a then playing to there strengths as they adults. But aye I’m thinking about rebuilding me kennels soon whilst they empty, but soon as they sorted I’ll deffo be looking for summat an gl may jist find me pestering him haha

years back I always had a soft spot for them banatay whippets k think they were called

i have had a few over the years, Some good. some absolutely f***ing useless, By far the best was a blue bitch out of a mating of Sooty Sam and Silk cut lady back in the 90`s. The worst i had was a called Dell by Christ he was a useless piece of shit, Timid, Soft mouthed and a whinging twat to boot. I believe a bit of terrier blood adds what's lacking in most whippets. They do tear easily but are in general are not the soft wimpy things people think they are,
