chartpolski 24,820
Let’s not confuse LEGAL immigration with ILLEGAL immigration. Legal immigrants have applied for and been given a visa, we know who they are and where they come from. They usually have a job to come to. The fact that, in my opinion, the bar is set far to low is down to our government, the rules should be stricter. Illegal immigrants enter the country illegally and usually without any papers so we don’t know who they are or where they are from. They take massive advantage of the system and by and large give nothing back. So, refuse entry to ALL illegal immigrants, make it known that anyone entering illegally will NEVER be allowed to stay. Only allow legal immigration to those we need and that there is no UK citizen to do the job. Make the entry conditions, wages, qualifications, etc, much stricter, no more paying less than the going rate and driving wages down. Labour won’t do it, the Tories didn’t do it. Perhaps Reform will try…..let’s hope. Cheers. 3

So, if we want to vilify Muslims for marrying their cousins then we deserve the same criticism. It is legal but it’s not the norm in our culture and certainly not actively encouraged and when it’s done repeatedly disabilities occur

I'm sure it was a lot more prevalent in years gone by. A quick Google search says first cousin marriages in the Pakistani community is falling sharply.

Well I read somewhere that 75% of Pakistanis in Bradford are married to their first cousins so I’d say it was time to be made illegal

But it's funny how things like this were seen as the norm over here at some point. It just shows that nothing is set in stone, cultures can change.
