I'm using her old golf it's a 2007 1.9tdi it's had a bit of welding done to it , a fuelpump and a camshaft on its time but at near 195 thousand miles I don't think that's bad lol what caused the camshaft to go mate....195,000 doesn't sound a lot of miles for a diesel engine..... dogmandont 9,893 Posted Saturday at 21:43 Report Share Posted Saturday at 21:43 This has been a brilliant family motor, when the back row of seats are folded flat it has a massive boot and loads of room for the kids in the back and with over 200 bhp isn't a slow car for what it is, the only real issue was the dpf which was gutted and deleted.

Gypsydog94 4,614 Posted Saturday at 22:11 Report Share Posted Saturday at 22:11 I got a x-trail for my hunting/family car. Triple terrier box shovels gun etc in the boot no problem. Small lurcher will get in behind the box if desperate. Been good off road too.

It's just something the PD engines do sometimes , the lobes on the cam go and then they smash the followers .

I've had a nissan x trail for 5 or 6 years now , and I can honestly say , that it's been the best all rounder that I've ever had , by a long way. It drives like a car ,but put the back seats down , and you've got a van.
Arry 22,459 Posted Sunday at 10:54 Report Share Posted Sunday at 10:54 I also have an X-Trail my second one, had them for six or seven years. Would get another if the one f**k up, Diesel mind. I put some town and country style tires on them and take them up across field and tracks. Good about of room when the seats go down and do a fare bit of logging, ferreting and out after the fungi. Slept in it a couple times with the seats down and an air bed at the THL fishing comps. Cheers Arry
