I remember that one...

I think I've mentioned this before but Rodger Cook busted an old feller I used to know who had lurchers and was a wrestler in the big daddy days and he fought under the name of Hans Streiger. He tried to do him for stealing and selling JCB,s and plant equipment.  He was certainly a rum old fella, used to love listening to his tales .

Not mr fox is it ?

His place is like a fortress and he keeps a low profile. He has sports cars and land rovers dotted around his gaffe. He keeps his birds in big aviaries.  The tops of the aviaries have a double layer of heavy duty fishing net on them to secure his birds. Wire net is too hard on the birds if they panic and fly into it.

I repair the nets for him every year. I can sew and repair nets. We have a few days out with the  hawks in exchange.

If it's the same chap i remember a chap coming to one of our monthly falconry club meetings and had the place captivated with his slide show and talk of the time he had been in Saudi at the bequest of some rich Arab to set up a peregrine breeding program with no expense spared.

I don't know how he started tats. He reckons its not difficult to breed them as long as they have space, good food and peace and quiet.

The setup the Arabs gave him to run was unbelievable mate. I will have to get in touch with my brother in law who was also at the meeting as for the life of me i can't remember the chap's name as it was over 20 years ago.

Can some one please put up the Cook Report Gold Diggers ? Thanks. That's the episode old Clive was in, he was a hard old barsteward.  I was in my late teens maybe 20 when I new him. He still had heavy punch bags hung outside his delapadated cottage and could still swing some big clumps in his late 70,s. He was like a character straight out of a Plummer novel, with his many beloved deerhound greyhounds.
