I was with @white van manvery early.one morning on Branscombe beach, we had taken a group out kayaking the day before and rough camped on the beach, cooked our catch etc...anyway the group of lads were still fast asleep and me and Geth were up planning the days trip over a cuppa, both looking out to sea and we saw a big back break surface a good way out " that's much bigger than a porpoise or dolphin" he said, it came up again, no doubt a whale... first and only time I've seen one down here, it was a minke whale I found out later...was an amazing start to day and made the days paddling a lot more interesting!

I was with a mate years ago in the med,20 odd miles offshore,I always used to keep an eye out for sunfish and the odd turtle, saw 3 whales together from a distance and wanted to go close but my mate bottled it,he thought they might tip the boat over,I never found out what species they were.

Was a great couple of days. That’s the only time I’ve seen one on this stretch of coast. Loads of dolphins about last year and plenty of tuna.

Yeah was a great weekend mate, we had a few of those...

Maybe chuck one up again as a charity trip?

Yeah mate. There's been a couple of different types moving up and down the coast. Seen one off Trevose head. Fantastic sight.

There's a 10lb bass on that beach just waiting for you. 😂

One of the lads from Camborne went whiting fishing down the Helford River last weekend and lost his rod and reel to a tuna. He wasn't best pleased to say the least.

Enjoy your weekend mate.

Haha... I'd miss the bite of that 10lb bass lol..

Thanks mate...

I saw the minke whale swimming around the Thames at Teddington a few years ago, watched the team try to rescue it then the vet put it down, interesting.

It f****d me off this they only took it down the Thames instead of hooking it up an taking it out to sea. A know a few on here would have got that whale to safe waters. Shocked me them putting it to sleep.

Ad a kicked are lass off the cliff 15 hour f***ing drive. 🤣🤣🤣. On a serious note Killer whale have been spotted all the way up the east coast right up towards the north east Northumberland down to whitby. I've seen dolphins a chap was feeding them coming back in on a boat. Great to see them breaching out of the water at the side of the boat.

Yeah a know that mate. But first sighting of it they should have pulled it aboard in an inflatable like two man kayak there only small whales. Then headed straight out to sea. They took it so far down Thames then it headed back up. All noise surrounding will have caused that. Busy around the Thames.

Yep, nobody thinks that perhaps why a lot of whales are beached is because they're on their deathbed.
