tatsblisters 10,422
Part of me thinks is some of it down to the compensation culture and Golys comment is true when it's the other way around it's viewed differently. A young lass at work who used to torment me just to try an embarrass me i used to just laugh at her and say behave yourself I'm old enough to be your father and we always had banter and she messages me now and then taking the piss out of folk at work. Spot on tats . He tries to play the cheeky chappy , but he's shit at it. He's not humorous, he's just a f***ing irritating twat. In fairness to him though , he's probably done nothing wrong legally, he's probably just been playing the part that he's been payed to play , and taken it a bit too far for some folks. I hate it when waiters bother you when you are eating and ask is your meal OK. Just f**k off, I've got a mouthful of food ! I especially hate it when, usually abroad, waiters become your best mate and put their arm on your shoulder or treat you like a long lost brother. Keep your distance! I'm a brit. I don't do cuddling strangers! I find tipping awkward too. Not so bad now because folk usually pay by card and you can choose to add a percentage. But leaving money on a table is slightly embarrassing for me. In Finland tipping is seen as demeaning and a relic of a past feudal age. The waiters are paid a decent wage so see tipping as charity. By contrast I've read that in America you have to remortgage your house every time you tip. Edited February 8 by jukel123

I’ve just got back from Mexico where I stayed there was a lot of Canadians and Americans it was a tipping frenzy tip the fridge man the maid the pool man the barman the waiters the butlers the guest experience people, even when I was leaving at the airport I bought some food at a counter and was reminded that a tip wasn’t included mental, I also don’t do false pretentious hugging either and that pathetic little peck on the cheek absolute puke, oh and yeh Gino is a f***ing nuisance lol. 3

Here in Spain people, strangers or acquaintances will walk into a bar/restaurant and say “buen provecho” basically enjoy your food. But the cnut is, you have to say thank you back. They always do it when you have a mouth full of grub ffs. The hugging and kissing strangers and friends cheeks has become second nature after 13+ years here. To the point where I have to restrain myself when I come back to Blighty

For example, he uses his hands and his eyes a lot when hes speaking in Spanish. When I'm in Spain with him, he embraces at least half a dozen acquaintances on a night out. When I'm introduced to them I have to do it too. I'm used to it now but I found it awkward at first.
jukel123 8,827
I was in Spain a few years back. We were eating outside and noticed several ambulances arriving at a nearby restaurant. A brit was taken away by ambulance. Next day I happening to be passing the restaurant where we ate. I noticed the waitress who served us the night before and gave her a wave. She came out and gave me a hug and we did the kiss on both cheeks malarkey. I asked her had she heard how the chap in the ambulance had fared. She took my hand, led me into the cafe, sat me down, held my hand and told me, in a low voice, the chap 'muerto'. Then she made us a coffee. Different culture or what? I'm presuming my age was a factor in her behaviour. But, different class. Edited February 8 by jukel123

I once flew back to London as a representative of the company I worked for to attend a client’s crimbo party. Basically just landed, went straight to the party and started kissing cnuts on the cheek lol worst thing was I was greeted by a group of said clients at the same time and once I’d kissed the first lady on the cheeks (totally by reflex) it was pretty awkward for the next chap. The look on his face when he thought I was gonna be his office party snog

No body said anything at the time and now they want him gone. What happened to speaking up for yourself? I know what I would of said if he had upset me and I'm 100% sure my Misses would've put him in his place. If nobody says owt, it's only gonna get worse. As far as I know he hasn't touched anyone, other than Gordon Ramsey Woke brigade springs to mind, at least I think that's the word. Excellent post, completely agree with that. My younger daughter worked in a butchers in a supermarket about 5 years ago, she’d have been 17 at the time, she came home and said one of the older blokes was being a bit creepy and it made he feel uncomfortable. So I said “right, we can do this two ways, I can come in tomorrow and sort it out or you can stand up for yourself and report it and say something” She said “No dad, I’ll sort it out” and she did and the bloke apologised and she was never bothered again. It was a valuable life lesson because she always sticks up for herself without hesitation now, she got followed by a Ukrainian one night when she was out with her pals….went strait to the guards next day and reported it and they went and sorted him out same day….no more bother. I always think these “me too” types suddenly remembering how awful something was 15 years (and a whole lot of wages) after the event cheapen the experience of genuine people…..you can’t take them seriously and by default it makes people not take anything as seriously as they should. jmho

kanny 20,975
It was all part of Gino's persona , the randy Italian, the reason why ITV hired him in the first place and they no doubt asked for more of it and now they are throwing him under the bus . 2
