Sorry chief didnt see this. No comparison in any way to the pit bulls but nice natured decent little athlete in fairness.

Sounds a scary woman she does.

2 staffs I kept in a bygone time, nice examples of the type I admire still to this day

I still think English staffs are more stoic than pits, I remember my old staff bitch walking up to me to remove a ferret from her muzzle. no agro, just calm. Also saw an English staff almost kill a much bigger pit that went near the staff's human family.

Don't get these going mate lol. Many haven't a clue never owned a proper stafford. Most of these street staffords that you see pottering around estates are more like Irish staffords / pits . Look like cross breeds. You put a pure beside one of these you can see the difference. What i call rubbing rags.

I had a little black rough coated Patterdale  dog..his party trick was running at then sliding under, clamping and hanging off the bollocks of the local dickheads staff/pitt X's lol....thing was mental, top holders in the ring piece and bottom in their balls🤣 while they in their owners arms screaming lol... grabbed a dog once,I had jump in a f***ing pond and drown the cnut until it let go🙈

Another time,he picked a fight with a massive bull mastiff/presa x...had my dogs head in it's mouth, shaking him like a rat,I thought,ok you've met your match...my dog proceeds to chew it's front wrist off🙈 could hear my dogs head popping, cnut still wouldn't let go...mastiff spat him out and couldn't get away fast enough ....if he had the size and weight of a bulldog...he would of killed most things...he would shit up off the floor, other dogs would physically shake when walking past him lol...the cnuts tail would be wagging...let me at em lol...first and last cnut I ever put up with, with it's manners..bred some good digging dogs from him, they was steady types, that wouldn't fight other dogs ,mad as it sounds 👍

Mate, there's a reason why the APBT took over the scene over here when they started importing dogs in the 80's, they were superior to our dogs.

When they came to Oz the English bull, which was really popular almost vanished. I owned staffs and then pits for over 30 years and you can't really compare them but it's interesting that the English bull terrier has always been the preferred bull breed when crossed as hunting dogs over here. Apart from their original purpose and as family dogs I can't see the need for the APBT as an ingredient in any hunting dogs but a lot of people have these and love them so each to their own.

There was skullduggery and plain lies at every era of the breeds history start to finish....and im sure still is today..... bloodlines all threw up different traits and types which was always my argument for pure lines it took the lies and guesswork out.....i can look at a thousand Apbt's even today and pick out every single pure Mayfield dog for example.....at least with pure family dogs you can predict the outcomes to a degree and then you dont have these arguments i dont personally believe what Stratton is saying certainly regards Tudors old dogs going back to the Henry dogs from England.....but like i say im no historian of the breed.

same family different lines but mayfield dogs will still throw pups that ain’t to type

depending how heavily inbred they are

my take on it any way mate
