Going by some ships right now and just kinda looking at the size difference between the tow and tug boats and these tankers and ,and, y'all ever just stop and look at stuff and are just kinda in awe as a species we build this shit ? Like these massive steel ships sky scrapers, cathedrals are one of my favorites ,ect.  Hell it's even more impressive the further back you go . The shit the Romans and Chinese did, the Russians ...idk maybe it's a lil childish to still think like that but, makes the world a lil less bleak

I love any kind of civil engineering project. Bridges, flyovers, cathedrals, aqueducts skyscrapers etc. I always think it's human beings at their best.

Try and visit Egypt,look at the pyramids,then the shithole that's modern day Cairo,it's like they are going backwards.

Same as Greece. They built an empire and are now a one trick pony entirely dependent on tourism. Not much different to the contrast between the Roman Empire and modern day Italy.

I first went to China 30+ years ago,the difference between then and now is astonishing,I actually remember a time when a Chinese tourist anywhere in the world was a rarity.

The chinese are masters or taking tech thats not theirs and copying it so were the japanese but they improved it ten fold. The africans were left tech in the 1930s when the europeans left and the chinese wanted it to replicate and hopefully advance on it, what did the africans do? They took it apart and actively destroyed it, never even tried to further themselves on it or make their lives easier. When in Belfast working or just going about my business i look at the old buildings and the new steel and glass stacks they throw up and cant help admiring the old architecture and the craftsmanship that went into it

Richard Lynn in his studies on race science in the 1970's put the average Chinese IQ a few points above japanese,modern day China surpasses Europe in tech.
