Money buys opportunities,as a wise person once told me money takes the sting out of poverty.

That's true mate but I admit money has never been my God though as I've got older it's nice just to have a few bob even if it's only to treat myself to an expensive pair of walking boots were in the past I would have made do with cheap boots or outdoor clothing. I still find it a bit sad though when I see lads struggling a bit with their finances then to see they like to smoke drink and have a recreational drug habit even though i used to like a drink sometimes to excess in my younger years some thing i regret as I've got older the money I have waisted on it.

Understood mate,i have always had a strange relationship with money, never smoked nor drank and tried never to waste a penny because I came from absolutely nowt, nowadays I realise that money equals total freedom,go where you want do what you want when you want, and everyone wants total freedom.

The barge sounds great living with nature , no ties to loads of utility bills, but a barge is a decreasing purchase,£175,000 for a barge say is going to be devaluing daily. A small flat for similar money will make you rent and hopefully increase in value after  a few yr. but your on the wagon of paying utilities etc. that’s why I say having money gives you a worry free life. Buy a barge live nice, if you loose £100,000 on it bollox to it crack on enjoy yourself

I admit as a kid i wanted for nothing due to hard working parents with in reason though i knocked about with other kids from poorer families though in all honesty some of them seemed happier than my own parents and where just happy with their lot in life where as my old man in my teenage years worked 7 days a week most days as we had moved into a big 4 bedroomed house in a posher area of the town that i got some ribbing for at school as all my mates were from the council estate. Though it didn't change my but I think it was helpful for both my sisters who ended up having good careers and talk posh where I am still as rough as a bears arse and a bit thick. 😆
