Problem today is....just about everyone under the age of  40,lives beyond their means....earn good coin, but are happy to waste it on sniff, tattoos, haircuts at the Turks once a week and the old Turkis

We had it easy FFS. I and all my mate that managed to buy a house struggled like f**k worked at ground works day time and shooting at night. Foxes one night skinning the next and rabbit for food with

I've mentioned this before, we have blokes where I work who wont do a ounce of overtime and are constantly sick, others only want to work the contracted hours and some work the maximum over time they

Sounds a plan mate, the railway is no good for anyone wanting a healthy social life, the sooner he gets out the better.

My neighbours son went to work in the mines doing concrete done 5 years and came home with enough to buy a house and set himself up as a builder

I put this story up on here a few years ago,i met an Australian bloke while paramotoring in Thailand,he worked in a FIFO mine and used to fossick during his downtime on spoil piles for bits of opal. His lady was Thai, she worked in the silver jewellery business, she used to get the opal polished and set as jewellery pieces, they ended up opening a shop selling it.

What will that work out after the tax man has got his claws into it mate?......£50 grand ?

Depends where you live i suppose but a grand a week isnt exactly movie star money these days......round my old way if you rent a 3 bed that is half your wages gone a month just  on rent.......then 700 quid on council tax and utilities, add on food and running a car etc.....dont leave fortunes at the end of the week

I took it as he was on 75k after the tax man, maybe I picked him up wrong, but if he's on 50 a year home he ain't much of a builder.

It's ok mate,we both know the world is filled with people, like your neighbours son who are prepared to go that extra mile for money,I like people like that,he tried and it worked out for him,if he hadn't tried he would never have known, and might always have had that nagging voice in the back of his mind "What if.......".

He's not Irish, he has morals. 😁

No, he's not like your national hero McGregor, he's not a raving cokehead, nor a piss head.

What do you think builders are on, trust me they make good coin on sites doing price work.

And yes, he must be off his rocker, he should have got shut years back but you have to do right by your kids, he's not a tom cat.

And what do people class as getting by, again, if you're classing going out socialising with the mates, going abroad once a year, away in the caravan on bank holidays as rich, then yes he's mega rich. Lol

He'll be on more, he did that through the books, so, he'll have taken home about 60K and then he has done his own jobs on the side, tha knows.

I'd happily live in a nice Bow top wagon..if I was garenteed to be left the f**k alone mate...I don't want the trappings of a conventional lifestyle...I've conformed and played the game for long enough...I want out tbh....

Better of buying a field mate and sticking a caravan - chalet /log cabin

One of my brothers is a brickie he's worked all over the UK and Ireland and has done alright for himself, always chased the money though and spent more time away from home than in it, he's 55 and packed in the travelling last year and is only working local now less money but says he's retiring in a few years time.

Thought of that 10 yrs back...but you need planning and to jump through hoops to get water/electric to it....there's always some sort of restrictions or your paying over the odds....ain't just as easy to buy some land and crack the f**k on mate, learnt that lesson having horses for the Mrs and daughter 👍

Bangers, buying a boat isn't the problem,it's finding the right place to keep it moored,I'm finding everywhere we go looking to keep it,that the cnuts are trying to dictate what you can do and how too live your life🙄,..they happy to sell me a wide beam, but don't want me in the marina, lol it's f***ing madness, they don't like the fact I got teenage kids,I just want to pay my money, and to be left the f**k alone but it just don't seem possible,so f**k em,I will find something else to put my coin into,We are in a good place, money wise, but the cost of living in a house is getting silly, all bills are increasing, road tax, council tax, every f***ing thing is taxed to f**k in this country and it ain't gonna get any better...I can  see us staying for another 10 yrs then f***ing off somewhere sunny to end our days...that's if I last that f***ing long😁

And all the best to you Daniel,  look pal, I bet I'm the oldest on this forum, but I'm.jist awaiting the latest results from.a pet scan, all being good, I have the opportunity to.fly out to Oz, on the 1st of may, 2 days afore my 81st. Fingers crossed, it's been the top of my bucket list fer yonks,  keep.ya chin up.pal, your a good lad 👍
