Problem today is....just about everyone under the age of  40,lives beyond their means....earn good coin, but are happy to waste it on sniff, tattoos, haircuts at the Turks once a week and the old Turkis

As I know fully well, a few wrong life choices can be curtains for your wealth, I know the hard way. I have a decent payed job, but, with all the bills, mortgage, CSA, etc, and with the Mrs only working part-time, we are just ticking over, we can't really save a substantial amount of money. My kids won't go without and that's all that really matters. The older generation had it easier, no doubt about that. 25 year ago my parents bought a 4 bedroom new build for around 83-86k, what's that today, around 140-145k? You'll get a terrace or a run down semi for that these days.

Mate , you doing well .

Put house up for rent get some income back. Then if you feel like that life isn't for you. Which a know you won't. My dream to live on the canal up and down the country. I've seen some great narrow boats been made at Bruce's yard and the bigger ones too. Near me the navigation pub you can stay there all winter. In pub for a few jars on an evening with wife an kids. Walk for miles. Running dog on boat onto any land surround up an down country on canal side. Nice stove for all game caught. As much timber you want from old fallen trees.  Your laughing. If you tigh up on otherside of the walk paths you pay f**k all for staying around

Bangers, buying a boat isn't the problem,it's finding the right place to keep it moored,I'm finding everywhere we go looking to keep it,that the cnuts are trying to dictate what you can do and how too live your life🙄,..they happy to sell me a wide beam, but don't want me in the marina, lol it's f***ing madness, they don't like the fact I got teenage kids,I just want to pay my money, and to be left the f**k alone but it just don't seem possible,so f**k em,I will find something else to put my coin into,We are in a good place, money wise, but the cost of living in a house is getting silly, all bills are increasing, road tax, council tax, every f***ing thing is taxed to f**k in this country and it ain't gonna get any better...I can  see us staying for another 10 yrs then f***ing off somewhere sunny to end our days...that's if I last that f***ing long😁

True a what that vanman from over my way. He gets by had a funny encounter with a weird c**t other week outside his van. Thing is with the boat you can go anywhere an moored up. A know what you mean about marinas. Alot are retired old grumpy c**ts that think all teenagers are the same no respect. Which ad say ninety % are lol. But then you've got parents like your self that show the kids time so that's not an issue they no right from wrong. I'm lucky here because most of the side of the canal on the otherside from the walk paths are easy access an no charge. Will be same all over i expect. Don't let that put you off mate

Can't you just go in the sea and live on the perimeter of the British Isles? 😁

Wide boats are dear as feck, sounds a nice and relaxing life when in retirement but can't see it being any good when you have kids that are still in school? What's the point in living in a boat if it's basically static?

Probably more sociable shifts as well, welding on the railway is basically all night work.
