Good stuff mate and it would eat itself to death if it could I feed her as much as I can without it making it self sick. She’s only little whippet cross but a greedy little shit haha. And I’ve been looking to get a terrier maybe next year I like the patterdales myself for the ratting. Good luck with ur pup.

My son had a wee Plummer for the rats, was a good wee dog for them, if I was gonna do lots a rats regularly then I’d get another one, saw a few parts ratting an the aye decent, most terriers will do it if let them try enough IMG_8022.png.11a081a48a9d5ac52393289137c0b060.pngIMG_8021.png.79d73b03bb92e8c73730148944eede29.png

My first running dog was a non-ped whippet back in the 60’s. Raced and hunted and I got the bug ! Had five or six whippets then moved on to lurchers, latest one is a first x deer

I’ll have them for life now I think even just as pets.. but I get out with mine now and then. 😎 atb

I couldn’t have 1 as a pet mate as I would still want to use it what it was bred for, even mooching about now I don’t see much apart from deer

My first lurcher was 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie. A small bitch. Early 70s.She slept in a kennel from day one and never made a sound. Later she came into the house and bonded big time with my son.

I knew nothing about lurchers having been brought up in the city.

She was a brilliant bitch. Although she didn't retrieve and would hunt up on the lamp for the first few runs and then then settle. But that was down to me being green. She was weird with other dogs. Just didn't bother with them. She wasn't frightened of them or aggressive. She just avoided them as though they were a different species. She thought it a real liberty if another dog tried to sniff or befriend her.

She just had the knack. Rabbits, hares, pheasants, pigeons, roe. It was very seldom I would blank with her daytime. She could jump anything and loved to surprise pigeons and pheasants with a leap when they were in mid flight.

She would often knock over 3 hares or more in a walk.  Although tbf a lot were hunted up. She never look at livestock.

I lost her at 6 with Cushings Syndrome.

I thought all lurchers caught as well as her and just took her for granted.

But none of my subsequent lurchers were a patch on her.
