jukel123 8,406 Posted Wednesday at 12:46 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 12:46 People, voted for Labour in the last election hopingnfor an end to sleaze and austerity. Within weeks we learned Starmer and his wife were accepting undeclared freebies and Reeves reduced the old age pension. New boss same as the old boss.

There was a fella a while back in my shop and we got chatting. I can't remember exactly what job role he had . But he was doing talks in schools. And he said most of the kids he had spoken to wanted to be YouTubers or social media millionaires. 1

We had a Paki engineer subcontracting for us, he was a good engineer tbf, did all his training over there, they use the same textbooks as us and are trained to the same standards. It's a no brainer for them to want to come over here, he was on around 100k a year, not to be scoffed at.

I don't think their anything wrong with aspiring to be a tradesman or driver . What I have seen a problem with younger kids 16/17 years old in the football team is aspirations to make money from crypto /tik tok/ drop shipping . They all pretty much think its their going to make a fortune in them because it looks so easy on tik tok . Some people are builders , some people are architects . I knew my place in the world when I was younger and maybe to my detrement didn't see myself as the other . The kids I know don't see building etc as their career , its just something their doing for coin and they don't really put the effort in because the tik tok / crypto riches are just round the corner . I do realise I'm talking about a very very small sample size in my town but it bugs the hell out of me. I sometimes feel like grabbing the kid and saying " get that bullshit quick money scheme out of your head , your dads a lorry driver , your mum works in co op , your one of us . Now take notice of what your boss does in work and get plastering and learn to do it properly and maybe you'll make good money at this "

There's a reason the NHS is filled with foreign doctors, the IT world is dominated by indians etc, none of the kids there want to work in Tesco (even though I have a pic of a Nepalese guy I met wearing a Tesco jacket).
