Sal Dee 2 Posted Tuesday at 08:33 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 08:33 Hi All, I desperately need to invest in a good muzzle for my 3yr old male Patterdale. Last week, he slipped his harness and attacked a Jack Russell. It took him less than 10 seconds to inflict 5-6 puncture wounds and torn flesh on the chest and armpit of the Jack Russell! The incident cost me over £300 for the dog’s vet bill, he accidentally bit the owner when he put his hand in to try and split them up, thankfully though, the owner isn’t taking it any further. I need to ensure that my boy doesn’t do this again, so I’d like a decent basket muzzle for him for when I’m walking through the village or in places where I can’t avoid other dogs. some have suggested harness AND collar, a slip lead or a choke collar, (which I’m not a fan of!). I think the first port of call is the muzzle! Please could anyone recommend any of the above? I am aware that Patt’s aren’t bred for being a family pet, but he was brought up this way and he is perfectly happy, except when he walks out of the front door, where he’d happily kill anything he sees! Thanks! Quote Link to post
Gilbey 1,461 Posted Tuesday at 09:34 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 09:34 If you look at the size of his head and then his neck, you'll see he can't slip a proper collar and lead. You can take it off or slacken it at home if you think it's tight.. 1 1 Quote Link to post
