mushroom 13,184
Bloody Fridge freezer has packed in. The compressor is running, the two pipes coming out one is hot and the other cold, I can hear the gas running through the pipes. Just that the compartments are not cold. The back element inside the fridge isn’t getting cold and the fuucking freezer is beginning to melt. Damn thing went out of warranty just before Christmas Ffs. Anybody work in refrigeration and might have a couple of checks I can go through? Its not a digital type because I refuse to buy something with extras I don’t need

They do fail and are cheap and easy to replace, but white goods are so cheap these days I’d rather just replace the whole thing than f**k about and have it break down again in a week or two ! To get an engineer out is literally as expensive as buying a new one . Cheers.

Again, I checked and there seems to be the pressure in there and I can find or hear a leak. I don’t have the pressure gauges to check properly though. Normally iif it’s the gas the pipes would not get cold. I’m at a loss.

Probably not the same thing but my fridge goes onto fault mode and shuts down when there is a build up of ice around the thermostat which is next to the freezer compartment I just defrost it and it starts again worth a try before you sling it
