It’s winter and just the weather. At one time the weather was mentioned for a couple of minutes after the news, now it’s the news!

No mains power yesterday and overnight. Lots of trees down and lorries blown over on the M6 near Scottish border. Fortunately I have a generator as we often lose power supply. Unfortunately I picked u

I got the message last time , to stay in doors , as the storm was a risk to life .  Funny really , because I never got a message from my gaffers telling me not to come to f***ing work 😄.

I’m sure I’m not just being nostalgic or looking back through rose tinted glasses, but I’m sure I remember walking to school in blizzards, through 18” of snow in the 50’s and 60’s on a regular yearly basis.

I can’t remember the schools being closed or yellow and red warnings.

This winter we’ve had in my area two separate nights with a dusting of snow that had disappeared by the evening , but we are being bombarded with warnings and advice; don’t travel, wrap up warm, etc.

Cheers.

Pussy state!

It’s going to be a bit Mork & Mindy tomorrow, but I only need to look out my window at the trees; I don’t need a government warning on my ‘phone !

When my flat cap takes off like a frisbee, I tend to realise it’s a bit windy ! LOL !

Cheers.

It’s pathetic how they treat the population nowadays.

I’m pretty sure it’s aimed at all the x gen, soy milk drinking, gender fluid, they/us, mental break down because Starbucks discontinued non-gluten coffee fuuckwits!

Jesus the country is fuucked!!!

I used to fit and replace canopies on the shops and hotels in Blackpool. Believe me I don’t need a government warning to tell me what’s a tad on the wrong side of safe weather.

Seriously it’s pathetic!

I remember walking to school in snow and freezing temperatures in the late 80s early 90s. One time I got all the way to school to find out it was closed and had to walk all the way back home (maybe half HR each way on my own) I was maybe 9 and i must of been cold when I got home cause my mum put the gas fire on for me to warm up 😂

Those were the day 😂😂😂

Only emergency services should be travelling in the morning they have said here.

Force 12 on coastal regions with big storm surge, storm force 11 for us further inland, gusting upto 170kmph …..been prepping for a couple of days as the power will go down and dont know how long for…..could be a week if things get really bad.
That’s will be cooking over camp stoves etc etc as we don’t have gas.

Lowest barometric pressure ever recorded over the British isles I read today !…….stay safe boys, hope it don’t get too wild.

You're not listening to the the THL massive mate. It's just going to be a bit blowy. Calm down. Calm down.

I've been a bit hysterical too. I was supposed to be guiding some punters goose shooting. I've rang them and cancelled. It will be impossible for us to walk on the shore and equally impossible for the geese to fly . Any that do get airborne would be slaughtered. Hardly sport.

f**k that. I'm staying in bed. The met office is expecting record breaking wind speeds for Ireland tomorrow and I'm not far from the Emerald Isle. It's going to be be rough.
