I wouldn’t have had to explain my calculations in the margin of my test papers, I could have copied and pasted technical drawings instead of painstakingly doing them with a pencil and ruler. AI could have written my thesis for me, instead of me trying to explain the invention and development of the two stroke and four stroke internal combustion engine to Luddites who still preferred horse drawn ploughs. But , hey, I’m happy with my lot, and the verbal sword play with fellow members on here . Cheers. Hey... I had to do all that for my Engineering HND and my Maths BSc. All I had was a library and shitty internet, which I got banned from because of porn pop ups. (ALT F4 didn't work, the fuuckers kept comming and the head of engineering caught me)

Lol it was dial up, used Netscape and was absolutely wank, when it worked I'll never forger the size and number of the books I had to read over a 5 year period. Kids nowadays don't know they are fuucking born! Edited to add: Most of the most essential books were in reference only, as in I had to live in the library ffs. I tried explaining this to my daughter (22) and she looked at me like I was Clark fuucking Gable, a relic of the past Edited January 22 by mushroom

My go to was 'Encyclopaedia Britannica'. But by the time I had walked to the library I had forgotten what I was going to look up and dropped into the pub instead.
mushroom 13,184
Have to admit I did love the graphic design element of my HND. I'm pretty good at creating drawings with a set square set and a T. Now it's all Catia, CAD/CAM, Inventor etc, I learn't a lot of it but haven't used it in years!

Funny how people with degrees don't necessarily use what they've learned in their careers. You work in recruitment don't you? No set squares needed I presume.

Try doing it freehand, haven't picked up a pencil in over twenty years and within a week was creating these masterpieces, reference grade sketches, Da Vinci's family have been in touch to pay me compliments. These days it's more Agile, Scrum etc and I'm planning on moving over to advanced onsite search (kind of like SEO but for web page search, not browser search) Edited to add: Some parts of my positions in the past have been to recruit for industry partners of companies I worked for. I did work in recruitment about 16 years ago though Edited January 22 by mushroom

mushroom 13,184
Most of what I was/have been doing was selling the "whatever" but I'm also fully qualified to do the same things to a degree. I'm no coder for example Edited January 22 by mushroom
