mackem 27,631 Posted January 13 Report Share Posted January 13 It's quite complex how some people romp ahead while others are left at the gate.I was in a furniture store a few days back looking for a modular sofa,I am doing a media wall in the basement so I want a decent size settee to lounge about on. I was trying a couple for size in the store when a lady who heard me speaking to the salesman asked where I was from?She had a cut-glass British accent,really posh and was dressed very well.She was born 70 years ago in the east end of London (uk) and spent time in an orphanage,we had a really nice chat,she lives in Canada now,is loaded i think,she gave off that vibe,and studied law working in the legal world.But I though nature V nurture,would she have been of similar economic status if she hadn't been abandoned as a kid,I am always interested in what forms unusual people's pathways through life. If you want things enough you will achieve them, trouble for me, relatively speaking, I'm an underachiever, I've never really known what I've wanted out of life career wise, still don't. I'm just glad things are looking bright for my kids, my eldest has been to view a few universities, York, Durham & Loughborough, I think she's set her sights on Loughborough. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Durham is a good bet,a friends daughter went to Durham and has done well since she left,really well actually,lives in California now,I have seen pics in her dad's house of her with Zuckerberg.
