No , it isn’t anything like what I envisaged .

I left north yorks 3 years ago after 12 years in Suffolk , did a year in Kent , 2 in Hampshire and now I’m back up at scotch corner in the same job , the same place , the same people I was with three years ago . In the interim I have caned myself , my family and my working relationships to the point where I have less than probably 10 people I care about on the planet .

I live nothing like the life I thought I would , I have literally no interest in most of the things of my peers, I don’t know how best to plan the next 5 years but as long as my wife and kids are happy that they can look back and say “ we had a good crack “ when I’m getting fired into the ground , I couldn’t care less in all honestly .

I,m happy as a pig in shit, hated school and authority with a vengeance ,left with no qualifications lived a mental teenage into my early twenty’s wasted a few years behind bars but when my first child was born and I thought I have to change things for them,so I started my own business, I,ve always been good at spotting opportunities and making a quick buck so I bought a house at 22 paid it off by my early 40s and now I live on my dream boat in one of my favourite places with all my family within one hundred yards of me and a tidy wedge to see me through, I made it and will die a happy man

Didn't fall into the idea of needing college and a white collar job. Never really had some massive dream plan either past the military. Didn't get to the sniper part but after really seeing what goes guys do past the glitz and glam the movies show ...not much shame in saying I'm a bit too bitch made for alot of that . My frequent hip and back pain don't help 😂

But yeah just kinda moved from one thing to another. Realized I'm not made for the white collar space like a large majority of my family. Went to a little.  Community college got a welding... degree? Certificate? Ended up dropping like $6000 on all my college what nots. met my wife ...aaannnnddd 6-7 years later ,now I'm some how working on a tow boat making 3x what most people I know do 😂

Pretty happy all things considered, more and more just find my just smiling thinking about how I have good friends,a beautiful wife and a pretty decent life... Maybe I'm just a simple guy 🤷🤣

Cue Simple Man Lynard Skynard (Shinedown did a canny cover)... not taking the piss, always loved that song. I don't have the skills to post videos on here, still a simple man.

Nope. Wanted to be a game keeper or park ranger......Once I discovered booze n yokes,  fingering girls and raves I just took first apprenticeship I could get, as a pipe fitter(turned out very good at it even though I hated metal work in school and tech drawing) so I could party at the weekend!

But no regrets, life's too short.
