Living standards are at their worst, it's understandable. We have an ever ageing population and the percentage of the population that is earning is shrinking. I've brought up mandatory euthanasia before, perhaps it's time to discuss this? Lol

so it’s worse then when thatcher was in ?

We have to have taxes, it’s how they are spent I object to. I remember when VAT was introduced at the behest of the EU. We were told “ don’t worry , it’s a tax on luxury goods, only milliona

No, just saying uncomfortable truths that you and others don't like to hear.

Mate, you must be naive to deny that limited company working  is abused by the working class just as much as it is by the rich. You crack down on that, you hurt tens of thousands of working class households.

I’m not denying anything ! I’m simply saying that tax rates raised above a certain level results in less tax revenue.
Cheers.

You're flummoxed, we both now agree that taxation is essential but then you claim taxing more doesn't bring any benefits, so, where is the cut-off point, where it turns from being a benefit in to a burden?

I know you are just doing your usual thing, but if was talking to someone serious I could see that they have absolutely no concept of the amount that gets just pissed away and what that means as a percentage of their tax ! lol

To make it simple for you, about 15% at a guess.

But, if you lived in the UAE I imagine you wouldn't be one of the poorest?

As to why we can't use their system.

For starters we don't have anything close to the resource revenue. Our population size is also around 6 times greater, so, have a much higher demand for public services. Does the UAE have free healthcare, education, a pension and welfare program which requires taxation?

That would leave us around £700 billion short of what we generate now.

So, where would the money come for our services that people will continue to need?

Hypothetical here, are you happy to see the retirement age keep rising, that much so you work until you drop or would you accept working until 40-50 in exchange for 20-30 years of happy retirement before being put down at 70? Lol

The only person who says you got follow the rules...is yourself mate...we all paddle our own canoe and control your own destiny....if you want change then you make sacrifices...we all like a moan...but most are happy to stay in a rut....
