What turned me off religion and the bible mainly was that my mum was Church of England and my dad Catholic. Their marriage wasn't recognized by the Catholic church here back then and neither was their son. If there is a god I doubt he'd turn a kid away because of this, so I thought all religions were BS from a young age. I still respect what other people believe if it makes their life better and am a spiritual person myself.

The king James is  written in Old English the newer versions are wrote in current English,if you put each bible side by side an checked each verse they'd be the same only in different English's,iv no

I think it’s worth saying that (imho) there is a massive difference between a belief/faith in something more & organised religion (a club). Let’s not forget that long before the written word

Get someone to read it with you mate Matthew’s a good start  try Proverbs or James something will jump out at you  all about having faith i found it similar to Francie no have a peace and co

Think i am probably a spiritual being myself mate in being most happy when I am in the countryside or even on an beach looking across the sea i always feel an inner peace a lot more than I do when ever I have been in a church even staring at a full moon or watching a sunrise or sunset makes me feel better if there is a religion that worships these things that I can see with my own eyes that would be the religion for me.

Well said tats, being part of nature and being humbled by it is as spiritual as you can get imo. If people can get that peace from God, Buddha or whatever it's a positive thing also.

But how is being at peace with nature anything to do with God or Buddha, it's not, it's just enjoying the tranquility of being outdoors.

I bellieve in a higher being,i was raised as a christiian,i like the ten comandments, what my god is im not sure but i believe theres an afterlife it brings me a inner peace

It would be nice mate but the words in a book don't really convince me, we see no evidence of an afterlife. If you have ever witnessed death, it's just silence and peace after suffering, nothing spiritual, just a big sleep.

We need something called evidence son. I mean we don't know for certain that vampires come out at night or that pigs can fly, anyone can claim anything, but, show me the evidence.

Poor cop-out Francie lad, what he says is perfect sense, God, what just God would bring pain and suffering to innocent children, sounds more like the work of the Devil! Instead of attacking the man, attack his argument, which you can't!

Lol I don't have to show you nothing mate,it's upto you to make your own decisions in life,if you don't beleive in God that's your choice, fair enough but don't be acting like you know for 100percent because you clearly don't.

That says it all, having blind faith in god is no different in having faith that Bigfoot is alive, that Elvis didn't die, that Ireland will win the next World Cup. Lol
