Remember also as a young kid made to go to Sunday school and after being at school all week like most young lads i just wanted to kick about with my mate's every Sunday though i think a lot of parents like mine sent them to Sunday school knowing where they were instead of getting into mischief. The only thing that got my interest at the boring Sunday school was reading about Noah's Ark due to being fascinated by animal's at a young age. Though the older i got i realised what a load of bollox it was after watching the survival wildlife programs on the old black and white television.

WILF 47,233 Posted yesterday at 08:36 Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:36 (edited) A comment struck me on this thread about the Bible being doom and gloom……. And it struck me that, we turn on the news nightly and see that in droves, we discuss it regularly here…..the Bible isn’t telling people to do that stuff What we don’t see in the news is “A bloke gave up his time to help someone or something for no other reason than he wanted to” Or “Somebody helped somebody else out of a dark place” We never hear the story of the volunteer at the food bank, the person who helps kids or adults with disabilities for free, the bloke who gives away 100,000 trees for free so that people can plant them, the bloke who advocates for the weak or the poor. You have a group of lads in here who have been raising money for years and helping people, just did it off their own back…..no news story’s or medals or recognition…they just do it because they are good people and being good people feels good and adds good to the world That’s all the bibles asks…… It also says what happens when we choose the other path and who here could say it’s been wrong ? Human beings are like an amateur shit football team, they want someone to wave a wand and win them the league….they don’t realise that it has to come from them by knuckling down to the basics. Rickshaw swami 4,132 Posted yesterday at 15:55 Report Share Posted yesterday at 15:55 I believe the King James Bible.I don't believe in modern religion.Personal relationship as Francie said.I couldn't do the hunting I do if I didn't believe the bible and know I've got a mansion waiting. Back in October I was lamping coons with a terrier when a gator kept trying to steal my terrier from my kayak. This past spring I was kayaking shark baits a half mile offshore at midnight when some sharks began to bump my kayak. After screaming like a little girl I regained composure and ran the bait on out. When your waist deep in mud,Surrounded by venomous snakes,I wouldnt want to be an atheist. Nature was put here for our enjoyment. So let's go hunting or fishing. 4
