As has been said, concreting over things and the deterioration of farm soils is a massive factor….the ground just can’t hold the water anymore.

it’s not that some drains and dykes are a tenth of the depth they were 15 year ago nothing gets cleaned dredged like it used to

Wernt it the European Union that banned the dredging of rivers and waterways. I can never remember as a kid hearing about part's of Rotherham flooding but the floods of in recent times have been regular in some areas due i to belive house building on flood plains and dredging of rivers like the Don.

they have built hundreds of houses  within a couple of miles of of the villiage i live in  now the st  works cant keep up with the water flow in the works , therefore it goes straight in the river, and floods all the land and roads  ,,  the job is fkd....

The government have ordered extra house building, shall I tell thee why,  we'll it's obvious innit,  these foreigners entering owd blighty, have somewhere to live ,  hey up another boatload have arrived 👍
