Wolfdog91 7,234
Pulled up to a dock down here to get some repairs done and first thing that greated was a dog. Just walked to the bow and sat there looking at us. Thought he was a stray but , collar ,well fed ,don't look scared or anything. Gave him a ham bone, because he was whining. Then was getting fuel just now and here he was , chilling with eveyone like he was just apart of the dock team. Apparently he's like the dock dog. Just hangs out visits all the boats that come up. Has a lil bed by the office, they let him in some of the buildings ect. Apparently all the regular boats know him and it's a bit of a good luck deal to for him to come up the your boat . Funny thing is seems most places in the South have some critter like that. Just about every gas station has a stray cat that's not a stray...but isn't a pet... that the people at the store end up taking care of. Heck I've seen em do it with grey fox , racoons , birds ,fish, was by one dock they had a big fish of some sort that hung out around the far point of the dock and it was counted as good manners to give it your fish scraps. Locals where ready to fight at the though of it being harmed to ! Then of course a lot of places in Louisiana would have a gator hanging out in the lil pond or ditch behind the store and they'd name it whatever they usually fed the thing on break . Now is any of this legal or company approved...... I mean ..... Maybe ...maybe not... probably not .. but if the thing is decently behaved and you have common sense to ask before you touch who friggen cares. Always liked places with a semi tamed animals walking around like one of the employees. Gives a place some real character
