I brought my son hunting/fishing every week form age of 3 - 12 yrs, at 12 he wanted to go less n less but an odd time he come out. But I've got amazing memories and some great pics and videos of him out hunting n fishing as a young lad. It's the greatest buzz of all when you help a kid showing interest to get a good day out. My two  nephews recently took a pup off my terrier Floyd and are showing real love for the fields.

It's a fantastic buzz to see kids get a love for hunting but unfortunately it's not happening enough.

Good on him mate he will never forget that I bet he was beaming, I remember my son when he was young I used to take him out with the hounds his face when they started singing in a wood it literally blew his mind he’s in his late 30s he still talks about it lol.

It is a shame about the shooting section Gav Mr Sausage Benbhoy yourself amongst others good knowledgeable posts and it all just dried up, I go out 2/3 times a week I was out yesterday Pheasants Geese rabbits and fox were seen but I can’t be arsed to post on there now as hardly any one goes on.

Great stuff. My lad and his mates have been beating the last 2 seasons. Last week as a thanks the keeper run a shotgun safety session for them followed by some clay shooting. Next day they all had a morning shooting mentored by the guns from the shoot. All the lads are 14-15 years old and all had a couple in the bag. Great to see the smiles on their faces. Not a phone in sight all day. Just young lads enjoying themselves out in the countryside.

My old fella used to take me with him when he did a bit of rough shooting and fishing regular back in the 70’s. I still remember one particularly cold and wet day shooting and getting home and my brother telling me I’d missed the muppet show. I was gutted. Next week I never went as I didn’t want to miss the muppets. I must have been about five. Never went shooting with him again.

I love taking the kids out with me, these two 10 year olds know more about the driven game world than most of the adults that come, my mates lad that was shooting yesterday has been coming out with us since he was 3, he knows his way around a rifle as well, the younger they start the better
